Fangji Peony Plant 芳纪丨Tree Peonies

Fangji Peony (ぼたんほうき，Botan Hōki), also called “Beautiful Prime Peony”, is a Japanese-bred red peony. Bred in 1933, it has extremely saturated, rich red-purple blooms—among the deepest in red peonies.
It shows chrysanthemum or lotus flower forms, with strong growth (mature plants over 1.5m tall) and upright, non-drooping stems. A late-blooming variety, it has high flowering rate, strong disease resistance, and suits pots or gardens (needs loose, fertile, well-drained soil).
With straight stems, dense petals, rich fragrance, it’s good for cut flowers. Bare-root plants (3-5 stems) ship only late autumn-winter. Unlike herbaceous peonies sold by buds, woody ones like this are sold by stems—our 3-5-stem plants are larger, more mature, blooming 1-2 years after planting.
